First Alert Weather: Tracking rain system looming over Chicago area

Rain returns this afternoon and looks to bring rain to the Cubs home opener in the early innings. A stiff wind off the lake will add to cold temperatures which, I expect, will remain in the mid-40s. Tuesday brings more rain to our area as the system moves through and drags a cold front into northern Illinois. That sets us up to mix some snowflakes into the rain on Wednesday, a situation we’ll have to watch for the possibility of a small, slushy, accumulation in some areas during the colder morning hours. It’ll be windy as well. (No, this is not an April Fool’s joke).
