3d Printing with the WRONG NOZZLE

3d Printing with the WRONG NOZZLE

I messed up and picked the wrong profile in my slicer and got one with a .8mm nozzle defined while I was actually using a .4mm. This video will show you the results of this type of error. Why did I put this out here? I have been a NC Programmer for 40 years and I have been 3d printing for over 3 years but it still took me 2 days to find this simple and obvious error. The thought that I might have the wrong slicer profile called up never occurred to me! The prints were close enough that the diameter issue was not the obvious choice. Plus I have found that white filament can be difficult to get the same results as I can get from other colors of filament for some reason. The funny thing about this is it almost worked. The printer was trying to put the correct amount of plastic thru the nozzle but it couldn't quite get there except at direction changes and retracts! I am amazed that the Titan Extruder was able to push nearly twice as much plastic thru the nozzle as it was designed to and yes I did have to tighten the pressure screw to stop skipping!
