20th Century-Fox Video VHS Archive (1982) Opening and Ending to 4 Hit Movies [1976 Through 1981]

20th Century-Fox Video Archive (1982) VHS Format This starts with the 1933 Fanfare of 20th Century Fox Pictures. Long before the days when Walt Disney Company acquired 21st Century Fox from the former 20th Century Home Entertainment (previously 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment), in 1979 there was the Farmington Hills, Michigan based company turned corporation, Twentieth Century-Fox, which acquired the extensive library of Magnetic Video Corporation lead by founders Andre Blay and Leon Nicholson and released their videocassette movies of every genre for rental in Video Stores that were all printed 1980. In June of 1982, 20th Century-Fox Video was established and began marketing major motion pictures for Video Rental Stores Each $79.99 at Retail, including Video Rental Library versions such as seen with the very first and debut of STAR WARS - EPISODE IV: A NEW HOPE (1977) in May of 1982 before 20CF officially released copies for Sale at the same standard retail price aforementioned in September 1982. These were four "R" Rated and "PG" Rated motion pictures that movie critics gave favorable reviews and some which they and audiences (moviegoers) found controversial. Two released by Twentieth Century-Fox Pictures Corporation: the Academy Award Winning films [music score] THE OMEN and Mega Box Office Hit Cult film that started one of the most phenomenal franchises... STAR WARS; also, the two other independent critically acclaimed films and cult ‘80s classics: supernatural paranormal thriller SCANNERS and the frightening werewolf film that took an enormous bite at the Box Office, THE HOWLING released theatrically by AVCO Embassy Pictures Corporation (AVCO Embassy Film) under the 20th Century-Fox Video Banner. 1. STAR WARS (1977, a.k.a. STAR WARS - EPISODE IV: A NEW HOPE) Opening: 20th Century Fox Pictures Fanfare following the film’s Crawl on the two forces of good and evil following an Imperial attack on “Tantive IV” prompting war against the Rebellion. 2. THE OMEN (1976) Opening Title Credits and Ending Biblical Prophecy and Credits with Fox INTERPOL Legal Warning Notice. This 1981 re-release was during the televised NBC-TV Debut. Twentieth Century-Fox is different from the 1980’s original Magnetic Video Corporation version. Twentieth Century-Fox Pictures opening shows a blood red Crimson colored Aura of Damien slowly and eerily appearing on the upper right side of the screen. However, precursor Magnetic Video released the original theatrical 35mm Film Print that only featured the opening title and credits just as I remember it in the theatre. 20th Century-Fox Video excluded the MPAA “R” Rated Logo. However, Magnetic Video’s 1980 release featured the original theatrical MPAA “R” Rating following the credits. The version you are viewing was modified for the screen by Fox but had the same length in running time as Magnetic Video’s original 1980 VHS and Betamax version. 3. SCANNERS (1981) Special-Effects highlight a plot to dominate the world through telepathy. Opening: A homeless derelict in a shopping mall gives an intriguing and frightening potent gaze at a woman causing her convulsions using only the power of his mind. Ending: The Closing Credits scroll in emerald color and computer style typography. followed by Avco/Embassy and Canadian Holding Company Registration. 4. THE HOWLING (1981) Opening: Title, Credits Sequence: a doctor describing the mysteries and power of the human mind. The film was a Box Office success as it was one of the first of its kind that was inspired by the 1941 original horror classic “The Wolf Man” and received more screams than its sub-genre competitors “An American Werewolf in London” and “Wolfen”. The movie was widely known for its special effects and graphically violent shock sequences. This film received countless sequels, two among my favorites: “Howling II: Your Sister is a Werewolf” (1985) with Sybil Danning and one of the best performance Soundtracks by Punk Rockers Steve Parsons and Babel which is highly worth seeing if you are a fan of the cult genre. “Howling V: The Rebirth” released in 1990 which was one of the best! 20th Century-Fox Video manufactured those memorable 1980s Big Box Video cases and like other Big Box video distributors MIDNIGHT VIDEO, COMET VIDEO, WIZARD VIDEO, VCI and VCII VIDEO, MAGNUM ENTERTAINMENT, U.S.A. HOME VIDEO could not be missed on store Video Rental shelves. Fox created the “Fox Box” which unlike others with clamshell opening and trays for the cassette tapes, had a unique navy-blue colored Drawer cases that slide out for cassette access and slide in for cassette protection. All tapes were $79.99 at Retail. VHS Box Covers Online Stock Images. Copyright Disclaimer: There is no Copyright Infringement.
