Assassin's Creed: Valhalla (Xbox Series X) (Siege of Paris DLC - Part 1) Journey to Francia

My next Xclusive Playthrough series will feature the Siege of Paris DLC in the game Assassin's Creed: Valhalla! This game released on the Xbox One and Xbox Series family of consoles on November 10th, 2020. It was developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. In this video, Eivor meets with the two strangers from Francia who have setup camp in Ravensthorpe & then travels to France with them. Assassin's Creed: Valhalla is an action role-playing game that revolves around a Viking warrior named Eivor. This is a story that starts off tied to revenge, but then expands to Eivor's ambition to expand the Viking's control as much as possible. Eivor, with the help of Sigurd (Eivor's brother), looks to England to raid, conquer territories and expand their control over as much land as possible. Throughout Eivor's long journey to conquer England, the player is able to explore a massive landscape that is divided into many smaller territories. Each one has many different activities to complete and has it's own smaller story to tell which ends up being a part of the bigger whole. Eivor meets many different and notable characters along the way who end up being a huge help in her quest to conquer England or try to stop her from doing so. Eivor's main and consistent goal revolves around taking down King Aelfred's regime and gaining full control over all of England in the name of the Vikings. Also, a considerable chunk of Eivor's journey will see her go on a spiritual journey to Valhalla (which is the main focus of the Dawn of Ragnarok DLC) to get a better understanding of her purpose and insight into what may happen in the future. This game also continues the overarching story in the Assassin's Creed series (primarily that of Layla from Assassin's Creed: Odyssey) along with the continued focus on the war between Assassin's and Templars. Layla and her crew attempt to locate Eivor's final resting place to gain better insight regarding the mysterious and continuous strengthening of Earth's magnetic field. The gameplay is vastly different from the early games, but very similar to the most recent two games. These games play more and more like open world, 3rd person role-playing games than ever before and, in turn, focus heavily on upgrading skills through a vast skill tree and a big emphasis on upgrading gear (which you can really fine-tune the playstyle you're trying to go for). The game still has a focus on stealth components, however, it does allow the player freedom to choose between stealth or a more aggressive approach. There is also a huge focus on exploration and loot which allows the player to gain different gear, artifacts and riches which allow you to expand/upgrade your settlement. Finally, the combat is very fast paced and action-oriented (similar to the last 2 games) and allows the player to focus on being a warrior, assassin, archer or a mixture of any of the three specs. As for this game's achievements: as of the most recent update this game includes a total of 92 achievements with a total of 2110 GS. The achievements are quite varied (as you would expect from a Ubisoft game) as they include many different tasks such as completing the main story missions, side quests, combat specific achievements, achievements tied to the settlement, collectible achievements, map completion achievements and some miscellaneous achievements. Given the scope and size of the game, this is one of the longest completions out there as it can take anywhere between 100 to 150 hours to complete the base game while the various DLCs that are currently available add a considerable chunk of time to the overall completion as well.
