The answer – it really depends on the app! ❗UPDATE: as one of my viewers mentioned below, this can be easily fixed by switching a Screen Refresh option to HD or Regal In a pre-installed Boox NeoReader dark mode performs awesome. But in third-party apps such as Kindle or Google Play Books – not so much (although, reading in the light mode is great). The reason is in grainy text and background, which kills the whole point of the dark mode screen – to be easier on the eyes. Is it a bug or a feature?.. I guess that's a rhetorical question.
