How to Add Grids Effect on Premiere Pro [NEW]

To achieve a simple grid overlay effect in newer versions of Premiere Pro, as the original dedicated Grid effect has been deprecated, the easiest method is to first right-click in your Project panel, choose New Item $$ Transparent Video, and drag this new item onto the timeline above your main footage. Next, go to the Effects panel and search for and apply the Grid effect (which is often available via the "obsolete" effects preset or can be manually located if using an older version) to the transparent video layer; if the dedicated effect is unavailable, you can alternatively use the Essential Graphics panel to draw a Rectangle shape with a stroke, then apply the Replicate effect to that shape layer to multiply it into a grid. Finally, adjust the Grid settings in the Effect Controls panel to change the color, border size, and blending mode (such as to Overlay or Multiply) to customize how the grid lines appear over your video footage.
