One of God's special gifts to us is the ability to speak. Our words are powerful---they shape our thoughts, influence our actions, and even chart the course of our lives. The Bible says, "...He who would love life and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking deceit" (1 Peter 3:10). That means if you want to enjoy life, you must choose your words carefully. Jesus showed us how to speak words filled with power and purpose. When a violent storm threatened His disciples, He declared, "Peace, be still" ---and instantly, the wind and waves obeyed (Mark 4:39). You can do the same. Don't allow fear, doubt, or negative influences to control your speech. Instead, fill your heart with God's Word and let His truth flow from your lips. So, be intentional about your words. Speak life, speak peace, speak faith.
