Despite its initial failure, it is now one of the most popular ballets of all time. The scenario, initially in two acts, was fashioned from Russian and German folk tales and tells the story of Odette, a princess turned into a swan by an evil sorcerer's curse. The choreographer of the original production was Julius Reisinger (Václav Reisinger). The ballet was premiered by the Bolshoi Ballet on 4 March [O.S. 20 February] 1877 at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow. Although it is presented in many different versions, most ballet companies base their stagings both choreographically and musically on the 1895 revival of Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov, first staged for the Imperial Ballet on 15 January 1895, at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg. For this revival, Tchaikovsky's score was revised by the St. Petersburg Imperial Theatre's chief conductor and composer Riccardo Drigo. 00:44:28 The Sleeping Beauty1 Introduction et Fee des Lilas (Prologue) 00:49:58 The Sleeping Beauty2 Pas d'action. It is the second of his three ballets and, at 160 minutes, his second-longest work in any genre. The original scenario was by Ivan Vsevolozhsky after Perrault's La belle au bois dormant, or The Beauty Sleeping in the Forest; the first choreographer was Marius Petipa. The premiere took place at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg on January 15, 1890, and from that year forward The Sleeping Beauty has remained one of the most famous of all ballets. 01:04:46 The Nutcracker1 Miniature Overture (B-Flat Major) 01:08:02 The Nutcracker2 March (G Major) 01:10:34 The Nutcracker3 Dance of the Sugar-Plum Fairy (E Minor) 01:12:15 The Nutcracker4 Russian Dance (Trepak) (G Major) 01:13:17 The Nutcracker5 Arabian Dance (coffee) (G Minor) 01:16:14 The Nutcracker6 Chinese Dance (tea) (B-Flat Major) 01:17:22 The Nutcracker7 Dance of the Reed Flutes (Mirlitons) (D Major) 01:19:30 The Nutcracker8 Waltz of the Flowers (D Major) The Nutcracker Op. 71 is an 1892 two-act classical ballet by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, set on Christmas Eve at the foot of a Christmas tree in a child's imagination. The plot is an adaptation of E. T. A. Hoffmann's 1816 short story The Nutcracker and the Mouse King. The ballet's first choreographer was Marius Petipa, with whom Tchaikovsky had worked three years earlier on The Sleeping Beauty, assisted by Lev Ivanov. Although the complete and staged The Nutcracker ballet was not as successful as had been the 20-minute Nutcracker Suite that Tchaikovsky had premiered nine months earlier, The Nutcracker soon became popular. #Tchaikovsky #classicalmusic #ballet #swanlake #thesleepingbeauty #nutcrackerballet #best #prenatalmusic #태교 #조성진 #임윤찬
