Kim and Trump express optimism toward their second summit in Hanoi

Arriving at the dinner, both leaders sounded very positive about what they'd discussed already. More friendly with each other than when they first met in Singapore last year. Our Park Hee-jun reports. North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and U.S. President Donald Trump had nothing but optimistic things to say about their second summit. "I'm certain that we'll be able to achieve a result that can be welcome by everyone. And I will do my best to make that happen." "I thought the first summit was a great success, and I think, hopefully, this one will be equal or greater." The two leaders met at the Sofitel Metropole Legend,... the official venue for the summit. After a brief 20-minute one-on-one session,... they had a social dinner joined by two of their close aides for an hour-and-a-half. Acknowledging that the journey leading up to the second meeting was not easy,... Kim said that it took a great amount of effort and perseverence to get here. Trump said the biggest progress between the two,... was their relationship. And the two leaders, did indeed,... appear to have a closer one compared to last year,... demonstrated by their warm gestures, such as handshake and smiles. But President Trump also said that the North has great economic potential,... adding that he hopes to watch it happen and help it happen. Kim and Trump are going to get down to real business on Thursday,... when they will begin their next round of talks in the morning. They're expected to discuss North Korea's denuclearization and the United States' corresponding measures over a series of sessions.
