Knock and sanitize both hands 2. Greet resident by name 3. Introduce yourself by name and title 4. Explain procedure to resident 5. Pull/close privacy curtain 6. Lock all bed brakes to ensure resident safety 7. Gather supplies: a barrier, top sheet, bottom sheet, blanket, pillowcase 8. Avoid touching your uniform with linens (5 points) 9. Remove heavy top blanket and place in linen hamper 10. Keep resident cover with top sheet and avoid exposing resident 11. Call RN test proctor for assistance (21 points) 12. Position patient to side by bending one knee, placing arms across chest, place your hands one by shoulder, other on knee area, then push resident towards test proctor 13. While RN test proctor is holding resident in place 14. Remove fitted sheet from each corner closest to you and tuck sheet under resident 15. Place clean fitted sheet corner to corner closest to you and tuck under resident and feet 16. Lay patient to back 17. Instruct proctor to switch places with you (21 points) 18. Move to the other side of the bed, bend the knee closest to you, cross resident arms across chest, place your hands, one on knee area, other hand on shoulder and push resident turning towards the proctor 19. Then pull out dirty fitted sheet, placing in linen hamper 20. Then pull out clean fitted sheet, fit corner to corner, making sure no wrinkles. Ensure that resident body does not touch the plastic of the mattress (21 points) 21. Lay resident on back 22. Place clean top sheet over resident without shaking or flick sheet (5 points) 23. Instruct resident to hold top sheet while you remove dirty sheet, without exposing resident and place in linen hamper 24. Place blanket over resident without shaking or flicking 25. Fold back a small portion of the blanket and the sheet together at the top 26. At the foot of the bed, tuck both blanket and the sheet under the mattress 27. Pull the sheet gently from over the toes 28. Make sure no wrinkles 29. Assist resident to left head, remove pillow 30. Replace pillowcase with clean pillow 31. Place pillow back under resident head by assisting to lift resident head 32. Give bedside table with water pitcher and call light within reach, say I will be back to check on you later 33. Sanitize your hands 34. Say End of task
