Surya Namaskara (Sun Salutation Mantra) with affirmations - Loveis & Jay

Surya Namaskara, the Sun Salutation from Hatha Yoga is a wonderful way to make yoga an integral part of our day and especially our morning. Loveis & Jay's music combines this soothing sequence of asanas with the 12 mantras for the sun god Surya, who is invoked here with his many names and divine aspects: Om Mitraya Namaha: I salute the one who lovingly indwells everything. Om Ravaye Namaha: I salute the one who is the cause of all change. Om Suryaya Namaha: I salute the one who initiates activity. Om Bhanave Namaha: I salute the one who spreads light. Om Kaghaya Namaha: I salute the one who moves across the sky. Om Pushne Namaha: I salute the one who nourishes all. Om Hiryanyagarbhaya Namaha: I salute the one who contains all. Om Marichaye Namaha: I salute the one who is radiant. Om Adityaya Namaha: I salute the one who comes from the original. Om Savitre Namaha: I salute the one from whom everything arises. Om Arkaya Namaha: I salute the one who is worshipful. Om Bhaskaraya Namaha: I salute the one who is the cause of luminosity. Hearing or chanting these mantras intensifies the effect of the Sun Salutation practice. A total of three sun salutation sequences (each on the right and left), i.e. six rounds, can be performed for this purpose. The third and fourth rounds are additionally accompanied by appropriate affirmations. This video is not a tutorial on Sun Salutations in the strict sense. Rather, it shows me (Jay) doing my daily Sun Salutation practice at three favorite places in Arillas (Corfu), accompanied by Loveis with his ukulele and our setting of the Surya Mantras to music.
