The film ''Blue Hawaii'' contains a number of examples of music oriented to these tropical islands. Tonight's song, ''Ku-U-I-Po'' is a clear example of this. It took no fewer than 3 people to write this song, Hugo Peretti, Luigi Creatore and George Weiss. The song was specially written by them for the film ''Blue Hawaii''. Elvis took it to the Radio Recorders studio in Hollywood on March 21, 1961. In 1973, Elvis had his famous show that was broadcast via satellite around the world. Shortly after this show, Elvis returned to the stage and sang this song again. The later edited footage of the show includes ''Ku-U-I-Po''. You then see Elvis back on stage, still in the iconic white suit, but without his belt. It's always fun to watch the show again.
