President Donald Trump heads into Election Day behind in most major polls, but the margin has begun to shrink in several states. Record early voting in many states seemed to give Democrats early optimism, but Trump is closing the gap on former Vice President Joe Biden in a few states, including battleground states Pennsylvania and Florida. Just like 2016, Trump is coming into Election Day looking for a surge. Republican voters tend to show up in bigger numbers on Election Day, and the president's campaign feels confident they have the momentum needed to keep him in the White House. In an interview with Fox News, Trump said Election Day would be "very interesting," and that "this day is going to be something that's very important and really special." More than 97 million Americans have already cast a ballot, and some states have been allowed to take several days to count absentee ballots that arrive after November 3. The president has said his campaign could take legal action to keep those votes from being counted.
