This week he probes the following- There was a time when the US influenced the Muslim countries like Saudi Arabia, UAE and Pakistan. However, it now seems that the era of the US ascendancy in the Middle East is coming to an end. Declining US hold on these countries is still acceptable. One would be startled to know that instead of the US, China has started dominating the Muslim world countries. Indonesia, which supplies palm oil to the whole world, announced a ban on palm oil export. Indonesia has announced this ban as it is facing increase in palm oil prices in its domestic market. Therefore, Indonesia has announced a ban on palm oil export to control inflation. India is the largest importer of palm oil. It consumed 9 million tons of palm oil in 2021. The recently published report is SIPRI's latest report on military expenditure. The most notable thing in this report is that the global military expenditure has crossed two thousand billion dollars for the first time.
