Mamata Banerjee parks herself near Nandigram polling station amid rigging allegations

Mamata Banerjee, the leader of the Trinamool Congress (TMC), has reportedly stationed herself near a polling booth at Boyal Maqtab school in Nandigram after allegations of vote rigging and jamming by staff of the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Election officials in Boyal, booth 7, reported that some people were preventing people from voting in the constituency seat, which is being contested by Banerjee and the BJP's Suvendhu Adhikari. Despite the looming threat of clashes between rival parties, early hours of polling in Nandigram and other constituencies in Bengal, as the second phase began April 1, were relatively smooth and saw no violence, according to reports.
