(Pokemon Black #1) A Divisive Masterpiece

Pokemon Black and White were some of the most experimental games in the series, introducing many new features such as infinitely reusable TMs, Triple and Rotation battles, Hidden Abilities, and a season system which changed the wild Pokemon and affected how certain routes were explored. But some changes were received less positively, such as the regional Pokemon excluding any previous generation Pokemon, with some of the new Pokemon designs being criticized. Black and White were also the games that started making the regions almost completely linear throughout the series as opposed to some of the more intricate regions in previous games. The 5th generation is easily one of the most divisive eras of the series, and has certainly left its mark on the series in one way or another.
