Man badly burned, family displaced after Middletown fire

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (WKRC) -- A 20-year-old has burns on 65-percent of his body after he was huffing gas in the basement of a Middletown home. The gas ignited and at about 1:31 a.m. at 1817 Henry Avenue. Officers saw Brodon Hicks inside the home naked and apparently disoriented. That's when officers entered the house and dragged Hicks outside. Hicks suffered burns to his arms, legs and torso.The victim was a "friend of family" and he was air-lifted to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.Two adults and two children who live in the home were displaced and are being helped by the Red Cross.Most of the damage appears to be contained to the basement.
