Finding the ULTIMATE Sega Genesis D-Pad / Modding Competition Pro Super 16 SNES Controller

My overview of the SNES controller Competition Pro Super 16 / Honey Bee SF-3:    • Pickup and Play SP Competition Pro Super 1...   Did you know the official Sega Genesis controller hides multiple secrets? Never changing the model number, Sega did change a lot of the internals (hey, did you notice the SNK logo printed on the board of the controller?) ever improving the functionality. The dome inset below the D-Pad of this version of the 1650 model allows the D-pad to glide around while the chamfered cross below gates directions in a way that allows discrete presses for each direction yet allowing you to smoothly transition between them, never losing control. This thing is astounding! You want one? Me too. Look for a tiny D-pad with a larger gap between it and the well around it. The plug on the end has a ridge rather than those official pads which have a flat end. Also, the markings on the face are printed in white rather than red. Further, the cord length is longer (6ft). It's still hard to spot in pictures. It's better if you get a hands on or better yet see the insides.
