Mayweather Jr came out in the opening round mixing up the left jab to the head, the jab to the body and the lead hook to the head. Marquez begins to pendulum parry the jab to the body with the rear hand - the same side Mayweather was throwing the lead hook to. In round two Mayweather throws the lead hook but makes it look like the jab to the body, resulting in Marquez using the rear hand parry, leaving an opening for Mayweather to land the lead hook and cause the knockdown.
