Do kiwi's help you sleep better?

Do kiwi's help you sleep better?

Kiwi's are tangy, tasty and sweet, but only recently did I discover how nutrient dense they actually are. I'll quickly give you a little backstory here, so 2 months ago I was catching up with a Russian American genius called Slava who I've been friends with for a few years, and as usual we were discussing deep topics when the conversation steered to sleep. Now at this point all I really knew about kiwi's is that they're a good source of vitamin c but Slava informed me they're so much more than that and if you ever want a good night's sleep eat a kiwi, WITH the skin on about an hour before bed. Now, the idea of eating the skin didn't particularly appeal to me tbh, I imagined it tasted like a monkeys ass but I began to research it anyway and I found that not only are kiwi's full of vitamin c but if you eat the skin you get 3 times more anti oxidants than just the fruit itself. Add that to all the other benefits like vitamin k, high fibre and increased levels of serotonin. I knew I was onto a winner regardless of the furry layer. As I dug deeper it seemed Slava was right, during one study after 4 weeks the participants experienced significantly improved sleep. Both falling asleep quicker and staying sleep. But did it really work? Well at the start of this challenge I thought I'd actually discovered the holy grail of sleep hacks. After my first kiwi on an evening I woke up the morning after feeling like I'd had one of the best sleeps in a long time. I was well rested, revitalised and felt really good. Sadly... It didn't stay consistent. The following night just felt like a normal average nights sleep and as the weeks went on I didn't experience any of the exceptional sleeps over the 50 nights the way I had on that first night... but, I didn't have any bad sleep either. So I think there was definitely some benefits at work, another thing I noticed is that most of those nights I slept right through which is also quite unusual for me. Would I suggest using kiwi's as a sleep hack? I think Slava was right, if you don't usually eat kiwi's often then eating this hairy nutrient power house once in a while before bed is a great idea, like for example if you have an important day coming that you want to feel well rested for. As for me although I didn't experience any huge changes I'm still gonna keep eating one before bed, partly to maintain my good sleep streak but also because they taste great, surprisingly yes even with the skin. As I've said before these tiny 0.1% improvements each day all add up to better improved version of yourself. My other channels...
