Google's Inactive Account Policy - What You Need to Know!
Hey everyone, welcome back to our channel! Today, we're going to talk about Google's new Inactive Account Policy, which might affect your Google Account and its data. So, let's dive right in! Google recently introduced a policy regarding inactive accounts, defining an inactive account as one that hasn't been used for a period of two years. This policy applies across various Google products like Google Ads, Gmail, and YouTube, among others. So, if you haven't logged into your Google Account or engaged with any Google services for two years, your account might be at risk of deletion. To keep your account active, you must demonstrate the activity by taking certain actions while signing in. These actions include : Reading or sending emails Using Google Drive Watching YouTube videos Sharing photos Downloading apps Using Google Search Signing in to third-party apps using your Google Account If your Google Account becomes inactive, Google will notify you via email and, if applicable, through your recovery email. The earliest date when this policy will be enforced is December 1, 2023. But don't worry, before your account and data get deleted, Google will give you a chance to take action and prevent that from happening. Remember, this policy works based on account activity and not device usage. So, if you have multiple Google Accounts on your device, make sure each one is used at least once within a two-year period to keep them active. [That's all for today's video!
