San Francisco Cable Cars Crossing at an Intersection - http://www.travellinksdirectory.com/l... - The San Francisco Cable Car System is unique as it is the world's last manually operated cable car system. This iconic transport system is mainly used by visitors and to a lesser extent by commuters and is among the most significant tourist sites in the city, along with Alcatraz Island and Fisherman's Wharf. The Cable Cars run on three lines in the steep streets between Market Street and Fisherman's Wharf: the north-south Powell-Mason and Powell-Hyde lines and the east-west California Street line. They are the only mobile National Monument in the world, and are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This video clip shows two cable cars passing each other at an intersection.
