It has aired uninterrupted since its premiere on January 11, 1993, to the present, in the United States on the USA Network. The network aired the show from 1993 until 2000, when it moved to TNN, later known as Spike TV. In 2005, the show moved back to the USA Network, this time with a special called "RAW Homecoming." WWE RAW is generally viewed as a landmark program due to its high ratings and live weekly broadcast format. Since its first episode, WWE RAW has aired live in nearly 200 different venues, over 160 cities and towns in nine different countries: the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Afghanistan (2005), Iraq (2006 and 2007) at the Tribute to the Troops, Germany (1997),5 Japan (2005),6 Italy (2007)7 and Mexico (2011).8 Beginning with the thousandth episode, which aired on July 23, 2012, RAW extended its schedule to three hours of broadcasting,9 which had previously been a broadcast format exclusive to special events.10
