Taiwan sends doctors to join fight against Ebola in Nigeria

Today, Taiwan''s Centers for Disease Control announced it will send two doctors to Nigeria to help contain the spread of the Ebola virus. Taiwan operates a trade mission in Nigeria and the country is also home to numerous overseas compatriots and Taiwanese business people. The deployment of this medical team will also include distribution of goods to prevent disease transmission. Ebola has become more serious in Africa with infection spreading to Nigeria which is one of the affected regions. Some 80 Taiwanese people live in this country either associated with Taiwan’s trade mission or as overseas compatriots. For this reason, the Centers for Disease Control sent doctors to better understand the situation. Tsai Huai-dePhysicianThe focus of our work will be preventing the spread of Ebola. The doctors emphasize that Nigeria hasn’t seen any new disease transmission in two weeks.
