Lords of the Fallen - Harrower Dervla, no dmg/armor/spells (PS5)

One of the harder bosses in the game but I really like the design/music of this fight. It reminds me of artorias or prince lothric in dark souls 1 and 3, lol. You can throw forsaken grenades around the arena to poison him at the beginning of the fight. Harrower will try to heal itself on low HP, stay at a distance and use ranged attacks on him Final thoughts on the game I did two playthroughs on the game. First blind playthrough was on radiance ending and the 2nd on umbral ending where I do no dmg on the main bosses I had mixed feelings about this game as a soulslike game, don't really know how to rank it, probably 6.5 or 7 out of 10. I think it's not as bad as what the online reviews say. I enjoy my first playthrough but when I am doing no dmg on the main bosses in my 2nd playthrough, I start to discover more flaws of the game. Game design : I like to explore every single corner and get all items in a game, but somewhere in the middle I start to lose motivation to do so and lose interest in the last part of the game. I felt that if you just want to progress through normally, clear the bosses and finish the game, it will be much easier, but trying to explore every single corner is tedious and tiring me out. I don't really know how to describe it in words, but some particular areas or enemy arrangement/density felt unnecessary. The umbral world is a great concept and there are times I felt rewarded exploring it, but I think it can be further optimised, making players feel fulfilling and enjoyable. Combat : For me personally, I think that SEKIRO has the best combat system in From Software games. However, combat is not quite good in LOTF, especially the lock-on system. When fighting bosses in lock-in, you will usually dodge/sidestep in a different direction which you want due to weird tracking. For example, if I sidestep forward, left or right, the character will sometimes sidestep backwards and tend to land in front of the boss and get hit. This is the reason why I fought some of the bosses without locking on, so that I can control the direction where I dodge/roll. Main bosses : The bosses are still manageable, not so hard. Some of the bosses which I like are Pieta, Hushed Saint, Harrower Dervla, Tancred/Reinhold, Judge Cleric, Sundered Monarch and maybe Elianne (hate the stupid eyeballs). I try to stay melee-focused on all main bosses, not being over-leveled and without using any spells, except on one main boss (crow) and using radiant spells for fun on two mini bosses. My level may be a bit high on the last 2-3 endgame bosses because I was trying to do more exploration/quests and checking out those areas that I have missed out during my 1st playthrough, but I think my dps is still ok. I use dual-wield longswords/paladin Isaac swords which I don't really recommend. Short swords or daggers are better choices for dual-wield. I felt that although long swords are at the middle tier but it is not as fast as shorts swords and also don't have the higher dmg/posture as grand swords. For example, you can hit two times with short swords which is good if you want to induce status effects but you can only hit once with longswords and it's risky to hit twice. The game can be very easy if you use overpowered spells or combine it with melee. Game Performance : I think performance is stable since I am playing it 3 months after release. It was around 55-60 fps on the PS5, I only encountered a few minor bugs on two playthroughs. In conclusion, I would recommend this game to anyone interested in soulslike games BUT only if there are no other soulslike games which you want to try out. It's quite enjoyable for my first/casual playthrough, but I think it will vary between different players, depending on how you approach it or the style that you choose to play
