81. Surah At-Takwir (The Overthrowing)

81. Surah At-Takwir (The Overthrowing)

Reciter: Hani Ar-Rifai Next (82):    • 82. Surah Al-Infitar (The Cleaving)   Previous (80):    • 80. Surah 'Abasa (He Frowned)   Translation: (1) When the sun is shrouded in darkness, (2) When the stars fall, dispersing, (3) When the mountains are set in motion, (4) When the camels are left untended, (5) When the wild animals are herded together, (6) When the oceans boil over with a swell, (7) When the souls are paired, (8) When the female infant buried alive is questioned: (9) For what crime she was killed? (10) When the records (of deeds) are unfolded, (11) When the veil of heaven is removed, (12) When Hell is set ablaze, (13) When Paradise is brought near, (14) Then shall each soul know what (deeds) it has brought along. (15) I (Allah) call to witness the receding stars, (16) Those that run (their courses) and disappear, (17) By the night as it dissipates, (18) By the dawn as it breathes away the darkness. (19) Verily, this is the word conveyed by a noble messenger (Gabriel), (20) Endued with power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, (21) One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. (22) Your companion (Muhammad) is not one possessed, (23) He (Muhammad) truly saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, (24) And he is not a withholder of knowledge of the unseen, (25) And this (Qur'an) is not the word of a devil, expelled (from the heavens). (26) So where are you (all) heading for? (27) Verily, this is no less than a message to all the people of the world, (28) To each one of you, who wishes to follow the straight path. (29) But you cannot will it unless Allah, the Lord of all the Worlds, wills (to show you the way).
