Patient dies after ambulance crashed in Milford Updated: 14 hours ago

MILFORD, Mass. (AP) — Police say a 58-year-old patient has died after the ambulance she was in overturned after being struck by a car in Milford.Deputy Chief James Heron said the ambulance was en route to Milford Regional Medical Center at about 11 a.m. Tuesday along Route 140.Surveillance video at a nearby pizza shop captured the crash. Heron said is appears the car"s driver ran a stop sign and clipped the ambulance, which skidded, rolled over and came to rest upright on the guardrail.Police say Karen Scott of Upton was returning from a dialysis treatment in another town. She was taken by another ambulance to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.A paramedic in the ambulance was also injured.Police said the car"s driver will be cited for running a stop sign and failure to yield.
