Craftsman and Wolves are Refining Baked Goods!

Goodtaste.tv Labeling Craftsman and Wolves as a small bakery is a big mistake. Chef and partner, William Werner, has fought an uphill battle to make this posh pâtisserie in San Fran's vibrant Mission District what it is today -- Amazing with a capital A! With a name that's meant to signify the trials and tribulations one must go through to realize his/her passions, the store is a living representation that hard work does pay off! Sitting down with Chef Werner, we sampled a few savory items available seven days a week. They do an eclectic breakfast muffin with a perfectly coddled egg inside. The 'Rebel Within' is composed of Asiago cheese, sausage, green onion, and a soft cooked egg...an all-in-one breakfast if I've ever had one! Serve at room temperature and be tempted. Specialty breakfast items, cakes, eclairs, croissants -- you'll find them all in one fashion or another at Craftsman and Wolves. Dessert, and more particularly chocolate, however, is the major draw. To contrast the warm, inviting nature of the Rebel Within is the Devil Inside — easily one of the best chocolate confections I've had anywhere! Topped with toffee, when baked this mosit almond cake develops a nice crunchy exterior, and inside a soft chocolate cream center, caramel and caramelized cocoa nibs. Oh wow! Indulge already...
