Daniel, once the Pontiff stepped off his plane, you could draw similarities to a rock concert. Crowds cheered, students chanted, and young women screamed as his motorcade traveled to his quarters in Washington. After all, this is the Catholic Church leader′s first visit to the United States. Pope Francis will meet with U.S. President Barack Obama today, and speak before Congress later this week. The Pope just came from Cuba, though he said he won′t be discussing U.S.-Cuban relations on Capitol Hill. ″My desire is that they end up with a good result, that they reach an accord that satisfies both sides, an accord, certainly.″ The Pope largely avoided controversy during his trip to Cuba,...where the government had hoped he would condemn the U.S. economic embargo. The Pope will wrap up his visit to the U.S. with a speech before the United Nation′s General Assembly in New York, and an open-air mass in Philadelphia.
