(17 Mar 2021) Dutch anti-immigration politician Geert Wilders voted Wednesday in a general election overshadowed by the coronavirus pandemic. Speaking to journalists afterwards, Wilders was optimistic about his party's chances of getting a good result. The anti-Islam firebrand urged the three major parties that will win the elections to negotiate and form a cabinet together. Opinion polls suggest Wilders' Party for Freedom will win between 18 and 20 seats in parliament. That's some distance behind the conservative People’s Party for Freedom and Democracy, led by incumbent prime minister Mark Rutte, which is forecast to win between 34 and 36 seats in the 150-seat parliament.
