Racer Derek Shaw is making his way through the field when every racer's nightmare struck. Derek's driveshaft in his 1969 Camaro broke in two sending the pieces of the driveshaft through the floor and roof. Derek was struck in the helmet and arm during the pure carnage of his car. We checked on him later and he underwent surgery on his arm that required multiple metal plates and screw to reconstruct his elbow. This is a dangerous sport and it doesn't matter the power or speed of your vehicle, when you're running all out anything can happen!
