New York City principals and teachers are leading the chorus for the Department of Education to delay the start of the school year, but Mayor Bill de Blasio isn’t budging. Other major cities, including some districts in New Jersey, have opted against in-person learning. President of the Council of School Supervisors and Administrators Mark Cannizzaro spoke to PIX11 about why they feel students and educators shouldn’t head back to classrooms and what their major concerns are.
