After having copyright issues up the wahzoo with the originally planned Compilation, I figured owed you all a different Compilation for this upcoming Holiday Season... For those of you unaware. the Compilation Video series is a series where I make a video of the various previews, bumpers, promos, trailers and logos from as many of the Video Releases as possible from the specific year or collection archetype. At least, that was the case, until this one came along. We ran into a buzzsaw of copyright issues with 1996's Supreme Edition, so I've had to shelve that one until further notice. Instead, I decided to give a tribute to arguably Disney's most impactful and memorable era in their history... I think people really do underestimate how game changing the Disney Renaissance was for not only pop culture and our childhoods, but also for Disney themselves. In the 1980s, Disney Animation was in danger of being shut down for good and the company in general was in danger of being broken up by outside investors. The shakeup that brought in Michael Eisner, Jeffrey Katzenberg and Frank Wells was something necessary, but it also revolutionized Disney from being something we watched until we were 10 or 11 into something that changed us completely. And it all began with an angelic singing mermaid in the Holiday Season of 1989. The Disney Renaissance was arguably Disney's most prosperous and successful era and I have opted to give it a special tribute worthy of such an era. With an eye and ear for Broadway, nine of the ten movies released were praised for their music and their theatrical takes in character, storytelling wrapped in a package of breathtaking Animation. All 10 Disney Films of the decade (1989-1999) are represented in various trailers and previews from the VHS era (DVD and Blu Rays could have made this expand to almost two hours). The Films included in this Compilation are, as expected: The Little Mermaid (1989) The Rescuers Down Under (1990) Beauty and the Beast (1991) Aladdin (1992) The Lion King (1994) Pocahontas (1995) The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996) Hercules (1997) Mulan (1998) Tarzan (1999) And I used trailers and previews from an almost incalculable amount of VHS Tapes in my collection, but for a basic idea of how much I used... Bambi 1989 VHS Peter Pan 1990 VHS The Jungle Book 1991 VHS 101 Dalmatians 1992 VHS The Great Mouse Detective 1992 VHS Beauty and the Beast 1992 VHS Pinocchio 1993 VHS Homeward Bound 1993 VHS Aladdin 1993 VHS The Fox and the Hound 1994 VHS The Return of Jafar 1994 VHS Disney SAS: Circle of Life 1994 VHS The Lion King 1995 VHS The Santa Clause 1995 VHS Pocahontas 1996 VHS The Aristocats 1996 VHS Toy Story 1996 VHS (Versions A and B) Bambi 1997 VHS 101 Dalmatians (Live Action) 1997 VHS Winnie the Pooh: Boo to You Too 1997 VHS Sleeping Beauty 1997 VHS The Jungle Book 1997 VHS Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas 1997 VHS Hercules 1998 VHS The Little Mermaid 1998 VHS The Lion King II: Simba's Pride 1998 VHS Mulan 1999 VHS A Bug's Life 1999 VHS Pinocchio 1999 VHS Atlantis: The Lost Empire 2002 VHS Oliver and Company 2002 VHS Monsters Inc. 2002 VHS Beauty and the Beast 2002 VHS 101 Dalmatians 2: Patch's London Adventure 2003 VHS Piglet's Big Movie 2003 VHS Sleeping Beauty 2003 VHS The Lion King 1 1/2 2004 VHS Home on the Range 2004 VHS This was one of the easiest Compilations I've made in a long time, as I was able to finely comb through every single video I had in search for Renaissance Trailers and Promos from the VHS era. I'm sure I've missed one or two trailers, so maybe a Supreme/Ultima version of this will be in the future. But this is the last Compilation set for release in 2025, so I won't be working on another one until 2026 at the earliest. Happy Holidays to all of my followers and I hope you enjoy the Advent Calendar videos coming out later this month.
