Police in Hong Kong immediately took the first detainee into custody. The eight were among 12 people who were intercepted in mainland waters in August 2020 while trying to flee to Taiwan to escape prosecution over their roles in Hong Kong’s 2019 anti-government protests. In December, a mainland court sentenced 10 of the activists to between seven months and three years in prison for illegally crossing the border. Two underage suspects were previously returned to Hong Kong, while another two remain in jail in Shenzhen. Video courtesy: Reuters Read more about this story: https://www.scmp.com/news/hong-kong/s...
