The Russian Armed Forces will reactivate and upgrade about 800 Cold War-era T-62 tanks over the next three years. This is to compensate for the significant shortage of its tank fleet. Retired Russian general Andrey Gurulyov, turned politician and deputy to the lower house of Russia's parliament (Duma), said recently that he had inspected Russia's 103 Armored Repair Plant in the Transbaikal Krai Territory, Far East. At the repair plant, which is a subsidiary of UralVagonZavod, work is underway to repair the T-62 tank. Moscow has already made the decision to reactivate and upgrade its Cold War-era tanks to strengthen Russia's defenses. In March 2022, it was reported that UralVagonZavod was forced to halt production due to supply shortages. The latest decision is proof of the huge need for tanks for the Russian military. It said the Russian military had so far lacked about 7,000 tanks and other vehicles. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This video was made with CAMTASIA STUDIO 8 UPDATE DEFENSE members share news of military developments in the world, news from the front lines, and unique snippets of military life including military equipment specifications, we also cover the rest of the military experience and in our military equipment guide we present what makes the military unique and fun.
