Minivan Camper Weekend Build

Minivan Camper Weekend Build

Bought a minivan and converted it into a camper in one (3-day) weekend. Its a '99 Pontiac Montana with 103k miles that I got for $350. The whole thing, including the car, insurance (for 6 mo), rug, insulation, bed... cost about $1100. (none came from Patreon, this was more of a me-thing) The rigid foam was pretty hard to work with and looked like crap, but it does work quite well. The bendy stuff would not be strong enough on the sides, but it is WAY easier to work with. Everything is curved so it took forever. The car is great! I've used it for a few weeks now, and I can just drive it up, park it somewhere, crawl into the back, eat and go to bed then wake up in the morning, crawl to the front and drive off to climb stuff. It is pretty small inside, but its big enough for one person. Condensation can be a bit of an issue, the windows can fog up really bad if you don't leave them open enough. I'll probably put a cold vent through the floor at some point and maybe get some solar panels. I definitely recommend building one! Its honestly the best.
