I think that as I'm majoring in film, I'm most interested in storytelling and the creative process. So I'm really excited to see Brandon's designs." 5. Various of Lea Michele posing 6. SOUNDBITE (English) Brandon Maxwell, designer: "I think the experience of dressing people for carpets or events, important events in their life, that's what I really see a carpet as. It's like an important event in their life that they've worked very hard to accomplish. Again, it's such a personal one for me. I think I think less about it in the collections and I think about it more as a one on one personal experience with the person. And so, you know, you don't see a ton of red carpet looks reflected in the collection. But also our business is not, you know, gown business. And so but I think that it's -- for me, it's the personal experience of getting to know the person that then the dress becomes what it's meant to be." Reporter (off camera): "I saw something today that I've never seen before where you had the sewers come out for a bow. I thought that was so sweet and the crowd loved it. Can you tell me why that was important to you?" Brandon Maxwell: "Well, they have come out with me quite a few times, But, you know, I think that they're always-- just to be totally honest --they're always -- first of all, they make the clothes. So that's first and foremost. I think a lot of the people who walk out with me have been -- quite a few have been here since day one when we were in like a 200 square foot little studio in the garment district. And I'm really proud of the work that we've all done and the growth that we've had. And I enjoy the time together. And I think that New York fashion is not just the designers that you see. There is so many people behind it that are really the real stars of it. But also, the honest truth is that they know that it sometimes is challenging for me to walk out there in front of everyone. And I think that, you know, it's important that we do it as a group." 16. Tuesday's (14 FEB. 2023) show was held in an industrial building on Valentine’s Day. Heart-shaped chocolate boxes were laid across the benches before the start of the show, setting the loving atmosphere. "While the color palette may suggest that it’s dark and the music was quite bombastic, it’s deeply rooted in joy for me," Maxwell said in a backstage interview.
