The G7 and its allies have formally accepted a price restriction on Russian oil. The G7 and Australia announced in a joint statement that the price ceiling will go into effect on December 5 or "very shortly afterwards." It comes after the European Union reached an agreement on the price restriction after convincing Poland to support it. The measure, which prohibits nations from paying petroleum beyond $60 (€57; £48) per barrel, required the approval of all EU member states.
