The provocative title of this sermon posits that in at least one way Transfiguration is the greatest feast of the year. Of course Pascha, the resurrection, is considered to be the greatest feast but it does not show our future; it only promises it. The Ascension shows some of our future, because we know that it is a prophecy that we indeed will rise in the heavens body and soul just as Christ did however Transfiguration intimately shows our future; We will be with God and in His light. Knowing this must motivate everything we do, no matter how difficult our times are. We will look at the words of Peter, who was on the mountain and who clearly was guided in everything he did by his memory of the Transfiguration on the Mount.
