At least 12 killed in Al Shabab attack on Mogadishu hotel

At least 12 civilians have been killed during an attack on a hotel in Mogadishu by the Al Shabab terror group. Its fighters are in control of the Hayat hotel. Security forces have been able to rescue dozens of trapped civilians, including children, from the building. They've been battling the gunmen who are holed up inside a hotel which is a popular meeting place for government officials.
