In fact, with the introduction of gliders and propellers, which enabled flight and underwater passages, respectively, they came up with a far-reaching revolution for the future of the IP. But not only that, in "Mario Kart 7" it was possible for the first time to assemble a custom vehicle from individual kart parts (kart, tires, and glider) instead of choosing a pre-made one. This also offered various options regarding the combination of stats, as each kart part, like each driver, had its own stats. One was better at acceleration, another scored higher in speed, etc. The kart parts were gradually unlocked using coins returned as items on the track. You could carry up to 10 of them at once per race, thereby increasing your top speed and filling your account at the end. Characters were also unlocked this way. A total of 16 drivers (plus Mii), including some of the most curious of all time like Wiggler and the Queen Honeybee, as well as 32 tracks – 16 new, 16 old ones with a new look – are available to choose from. Speaking of tracks, a new type of race track was introduced with Stage Courses. These lead from A to B and are divided into three stages, instead of three laps and a circuit. Furthermore, tracks from franchises that aren't part of the Mario universe appear in the game for the first time. In this case, there are two Wii Sports Resort tracks. Mario Kart 7 introduced three new items: the Fire Flower, the Tanuki Tail, and the Lucky 7. With the latter, the player receives seven items at once! Star, Blooper, Banana, Green Shell, Red Shell, Bob-Omb, and Mushroom. In addition to the Grand Prix, there are also Time Trial, Balloon Battle, and Coin Battle. Up to eight players could play locally or online. The 3DS's StreetPass and SpotPass features were also used. This allowed players to receive other people's time trial ghost data, for example. It was also possible to drive in first-person perspective and steer by tilting the 3DS console. There was also an accessory available for this in the form of a steering wheel that could be attached to the console. ▪ TITLE: Mario Kart 7 ▪ DEVELOPER: Nintendo, Retro Studios ▪ PUBLISHER: Nintendo ▪ SYSTEM: Nintendo 3DS Family ▪ GENRE: Fun Racer ▪ OFFICIAL SITE: http://bit.ly/3XjsEwL ▪ GERMANY RELEASE: December 2, 2011 ▪ METASCORE: 85% ▪ HASHTAGS: #mariokart7 #mk7 #mariokart
