GOP Senators introduce police reform bill, McConnell schedules vote next week | FULL PRESS BRIEFING

Senator Tim Scott, Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, and task force members Senators Shelley Moore Capito, John Cornyn, Lindsey Graham, James Lankford and Ben Sasse will hold a press conference prior to introduction of the Just and Unifying Solutions to Invigorate Communities Everywhere (JUSTICE) Act. McConnell said today that he will try to bring up the GOP police reform proposal next week, setting the stage for an initial test vote. "After we do [two] circuit judges who are queued up ... we're going to turn to the Scott bill," McConnell said during a press conference announcing the move. The decision will set up an initial procedural vote on the GOP police reform bill next week, where Republicans will need to get 60 votes to overcome the hurdle and start a debate on the legislation.
