PAINTING VIDEO DESCRIPTION – This easy painting tutorial will take you through beginner step-by-step instructions on how to draw and paint this fun, exciting and easy still life painting "SCREAM FOR ICE CREAM” with acrylic paint. I don’t get many hot days living up in the mountains in Massachusetts. Even during the summer—peak summer season, middle of July—I’m lucky if it gets above 90 degrees Fahrenheit (32 degrees Celsius) ever. But, when it does, there is nothing better, more satisfying, more enjoyable, than sitting in the shade and eating ice cream. I’m talking about some good ole fashion, naughty, real-as-it-gets, ice cream. None of that sugar free, dairy free, fat free, imitation stuff—give me delicious wholesome goodness the way ice cream was meant to be made. Eggs, sugar, cream—the blueprint for the tastiest treat on the planet. I’ll easily devour two to three scoops of some of my favorite flavors: chocolate chip, vanilla, cookies and cream, pistachio, Neapolitan and strawberry. And, in my opinion, no ice cream is complete without chocolate or rainbow sprinkles drizzled on top! That added layer of crunch and texture makes it all better. Cone or cup? There’s not debate here for me-gimmie that cone! All the good stuff melts down into the bottom of the cone making for a delicious last bite! It’s worth the sticky fingers and belly ache afterwards. It’s summer right now—travelling, barbequing, gardening, and eating ice cream are on my list! So, join me and celebrate the illustrious history of this ever-satisfying dessert treat that has brought comfort and joy to mankind for thousands of years, and paint this charming, nostalgic and colorful food still life image that is sure to invoke childhood memories and make everyone’s mouth water. The first lesson you’ll learn in this beginner level painting is how to paint a background with a light soft color to enhance the vibe and set the stage perfectly for this summertime snack. Learning how to use a dot-to-dot drawing method, you’ll draw an outline of your ice cream scoops and cone, followed by applying a simple base coat with complimentary custom colors that were mixed using color theory. In the next step, you’ll use a directional brushstroke to draw and paint your ice cream cone and give it a round form creating a feel as if you could reach onto the canvas and grab it. Then you’ll add highlights and shadows to the cone for added depth and dimension, creating a 3-D realistic photo effect and appearance. Learn to paint ice cream by layering colors and using various tones in the value scale to create contours, curves, movement and shape to your succulent scoops to really make them POP off the canvas. Your three scoops of melting ice cream will look so realistic as the ice milk drips into a puddle. Use a directional quick mark making brushstroke to add jimmies, quins, sugar pearls, sanding sugar or edible glitter to your frozen dessert sundae. The process is so fun and simple, you could paint any type of ice cream or topping you want; cherry, blackberry, dark chocolate, maple, butter, tiramisu, peanuts, gummy bears, Reese's pieces, you name it! Using only 3 brushes, 7 colors, and only one brush per step, we'll create this conversational masterpiece. Not just a beautiful painting, but an easy painting for beginners. Paint alone, or with friends! Have a date night, paint party, or virtual paint night. So, let's get painting and let's get sipping! IMAGE LINK FOR PRINTING: https://static1.squarespace.com/stati...
