"Don't Know Why" is a song originally written by the singer-songwriter and guitarist Jesse Harris, but brought to fame by Norah Jones' cover in her debut studio album, "Come Away with Me" (2002), where Harris appears as electric and acoustic guitarist for this track. As we did for "Sunrise", we thought to add the classical guitar to give a jazzy and soft touch to this song. Come potete vedere, ci piace suonare pezzi di Norah! The two met by chance, becoming PhD colleagues in Pisa. And immediately they discovered their musical affinity. After a short time, they started playing together, building a repertoire that reflects their different cultures and stories: from bossa nova to folk, from jazz to pop, passing through Italian music .... But why Capo Horn? In addition to being the watershed between the two largest oceans in the world - the Atlantic and the Pacific -, Capo Horn (the Italian name for Cape Horn) is also an icon, a metaphor. Capo Horn is the point where two worlds meet, mix and collide. And in the same way, this duo is born: from the meeting, the mixing and the contamination between two people with different and distant origins, but united by the same desire to play together to create something beautiful. [ITA] Capo Horn nasce da un’idea di Antonio Manzoni (Italia) e Israel Barroso (Brasile). I due si sono conosciuti per caso, diventando colleghi di dottorato a Pisa. E fin da subito hanno scoperto la loro affinità musicale. Dopo poco tempo, hanno iniziato a suonare insieme, costruendo un repertorio che rispecchia le loro culture e storie differenti: dalla bossa nova al folk, dal jazz al pop, passando per la musica italiana.... Ma perché Capo Horn? Oltre ad essere lo spartiacque tra i due Oceani più grandi al mondo - l’Atlantico e il Pacifico -, Capo Horn è anche un’icona, una metafora. Capo Horn è il punto in cui due mondi si incontrano, si mescolano e si scontrano. E allo stesso modo, nasce questo duo: dall'incontro, dalla mescolanza e dalla contaminazione tra due persone con origini differenti e lontane, ma unite dalla stessa voglia di suonare insieme per creare qualcosa di bello.
