Fans React to the 2023 Mexico City Grand Prix
When it comes to bad races at the absolute worst time, this race will come up first in the search results in Sergio Perez's mind. Checo Perez at his home Grand Prix was out on the very first turn of the very first lap in a part of the season where his future with Red Bull in the long term is extremely uncertain. Max Verstappen darted into the lead at the first turn and never looked back, winning his 16th race of the season and breaking the record he set last season. Lewis Hamilton drove a brilliant race to finish 2nd, and Charles Leclerc finished on the podium for Ferrari after starting from pole for the second race in a row. Lando Norris charged through the field to finish 5th and won the Driver of the Day vote, and Ricciardo looked like his old self with a great drive to finish seventh for AlphaTauri.
