Imagine shifting gears, hearing the rumble of the side exhaust in a 350 hp red roadster! We can make that dream a reality, this L-79 has been frame off restored. The codes and dates on the motor, trans and rear line up properly to indicate they are original. The trim tag says it is a factory Rally Red car with black interior. The state of Ohio issued a new vin. EXTERIOR: The body looks great. It is straight, fits real nice and no damage. Repainted it's original Rally Red color according to the tag. It is polished smooth and glossy. Only minor flaws you would see upon inspection. Overall very nice chrome and trim. 2 key ingredients are the side pipes and knock off wheels, they look great on the car! The black convertible top looks new, weatherstrips were replaced. INTERIOR: Very nice looking interior. Genuine leather upholstery on the seats. The dash area is excellent: dash pads, gauges, knobs, original Am-Fm radio etc. The clock is ticking. The glovebox door and liner look great, has owner's manual and the light works. Carpet front to back is excellent. Correct reverse lockout shifter. The seats and door panels are excellent. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Correct L-79 327-350 hp. The casting codes, assembly date and HT suffix are correct. It has original L-79 aluminum intake, finned valve covers, air cleaner, ignition shielding, fuel filter etc. Correct cooling system: radiator, hoses, clamps, dated expansion tank etc. Cleaned up very nicely. UNDERSIDE: Front and rear independent suspension looks like it was all rebuilt. This is the first year that Corvette offered disc brakes at all four wheels. It was also rebuilt: hoses replaced, e-brake is hooked up. Looking up at the motor it is clean Chevy Orange. It looks like the starter and fuel pump are fresh, it has the correct canister type oil filter. The Muncie 4-speed is clean and also correct according to the numbers stamped on it. The drive shaft has been restored and in back is a correct 3.55 posi rear. The frame and chassis components have been cleaned up and painted nicely. The fiberglass floors are not damaged, they're clean. The spare tire carrier looks great too. SERVICE: We inspected the car and it checked out real well. We only had to repair driver's door lock and tightened a mirror. Enjoy life while being smart. A ride in this car will certainly make you feel excited.
