Hello friends! My cotinus tree has turned a lovely vibrant purple, so let's take advantage of that and dye some Belgian milksheep wool. This will be a very experimental video as my one book on natural dyeing gives no instructions for it. But the results are oh so worth it. Did I maybe even achieve the impossible shade of blue in this video? And as cotinus is of the sumac family, I'm also very curious whether or not I can dye with this natural dyestuff without actually using a mordant. For the other experiments I used alum, of course. In the third part we'll dunk the wool in some modifier afterbaths: iron modifier and some wood ash lye. So strap yourselves in tight as we're going the chaos route!
