Ukrainian residents of Mykolaiv, in the south of the country, are faced with possible clean water shortages as their water system was severely damaged during Russian strikes and the ongoing conflict. Municipal Water Chief, Borys Dydenko, said that the water supply in the region faces a “colossal disaster” and it’s the “hardest situation in all of Ukraine”. Fresh drinking water was transported to Mykolaiv by two 1400 millimetre pipes each round-the-clock, but now those are leaking, much of the water does not reach the city. A repair crew member said that they are working on the fifth leakage in three days.
