On December 5th, 2020, a preview build of Super Mario ReInvent (SMR) v1.1 came out, and before it was called "New Super Mario Bros. X (NSMBX)", and it is same project as NSMBX which is the revived old NSMBX/Super Mario Bros.: Remastered (SMB:R) development that mr.game.and.watch14 worked on until the cancellation of development in 2012, and it is fan continuation of SMBX 1.3 by Redigit. Also, aside from development being continued, SMR also ports almost every part of SMBX to lua and revamps it if needed. Because Super Mario ReInvent (SMR) v1.1 is currently in development at the time I filmed and published this video, this is actually like a build preview version of it and level editor isn't currently available. Also, when I tried opening the PGE (Platform Game Engine) editor in the PGE folder, I would wait forever for PGE editor to open up. In this video, I was doing a gameplay of an episode that is a remake of Super Mario Bros. in SMBX style, it is made by Sapphire Bullet Bill and it was created with SMBX v1.3.0.1 (now archived and it's outdated, thus it is the same exact thing as SMBX v1.3 (referring to Redigit's last SMBX version released before development ended in 2011, apart from some changes). I have tested this episode in SMBX v1.3 privately and it works, because SMBX v1.3.0.1 is just minor changes from the version I mentioned by Redigit. For part two (2), I played as Mario for worlds four (4) and seven (7) Luigi for world five (5), and Toad for world six (6). Because this is a preview build, there is a bug with the firebar that it's not acting properly shown in the video. This Super Mario Bros. remake in SMBX is definitely not too bad for me but the level in world 5-3 like world 1-3 in a Super Mario World (SMW) ghost house background instead of a Super Mario All Stars (SMAS): Super Mario Bros. (SMB1)/Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels (SMBTLL) waterfall background, there are a few elements missing like the Starman, the seesaw platforms are not moving just like SMB1 (original, SMAS, and Super Mario Bros. Deluxe (SMBDX)), the flagpole should act properly like the original game, and more. SMR (NSMBX) v1.0 actually has a Starman from SMAS: SMB1/SMBTLL and the latest version of SMR (preview builds and upcoming versions) has that! However, for this preview build, it lacks an editor for levels and worlds and it should be included once SMR v1.1 comes out. The reason the graphics (GFX) have slight differences are that I replaced the GFX from SMBX v1.3.0.1, converted to PNG, and transferred them to the GFX folders (not for this episode) is that the graphics from v1.3.0.1 are fixed graphics and SMR has graphics from SMBX v1.3. -- Download link for Super Mario Bros.
