He was born as Tramar Lacel Dillard in Florida, USA. His brother-in-law was a Hype Man for local group 2 Live Crew and while in 9th grade Tramar joined an amateur rap group called GroundHoggz - a 4 man crew that all lived in the same apartment as Tramar. While performing Fresh Kid Ice of 2 Live Crew took notice and invited him to be his Hype Man. After graduating from high school he visited two different universities before he received a phone call from a representative of an independent label. In 2008 Flo Rida released his debut album 'Mail On Sunday' after his first single 'Low' (featuring T-Pain) had become #1 in the US Billboard single charts. His album peaked at #4 in the USA and Canada. In 2009 he released his 2nd album 'R.O.O.T.S.' which peaked at #5 in the UK, #6 in Australia and Canada and #8 in the USA. The singler 'Round And Round' (featuring a then-uncredited Kesha) became his 2nd #1 single in his homecountry and also topped the charts in Australia, Canada and the UK. In 2010 he released his 3rd studio album 'Only One Flo (Part 1)' which missed the Top 100 of the album charts. But his collab with French DJ 'Club Can't Handle Me' topped the UK Single Charts. In 2012 he released his 4th studio album "Wild Ones" which topped the Canadian album charts, peaked at #5 in Australia, #8 in the UK and #14 in the USA. The single 'Whistle' became his 3rd and so far final #1 song in his homecountry. And in 2015 he released an EP called 'My House' which peaked at #14 in the USA. In 2021 he surprised as a featured act for Senhit's ESC-entry "Adrenalina" for San Marino and even joined her on stage at the Eurovision Song Contest in Amsterdam that year.
